How to Manage Work Order Categories in Doorcast

Accessing Work Order Categories

  1. Log In: Ensure you are logged into your Doorcast account with administrator rights.

  2. Navigate to Work Order Categories: Click on the "Admin" dropdown in the upper navigation bar, then select "Work Order Categories."

Creating a Work Order Category

  1. Initiate Category Creation: Click the "Create Category" button, which opens a modal window.

  2. Enter Category Details:

    • Name: Type the name of the new category you wish to create, such as "Appliance Install" or "HVAC Maintenance."

  1. Save the Category: Click "Save Category" to add the new category to the system.

Editing a Work Order Category

  1. Find the Category: Locate the category you wish to edit from the list shown.

  1. Open Edit Modal: Click on the three dots (kebab menu) next to the category name and select "Edit."

  2. Update Category Details: Modify the name or any other editable details in the modal.

  1. Save Changes: Click "Save Category" to update the details in the system.

Deleting a Work Order Category

  1. Choose to Delete: Click on the three dots next to the category you wish to remove and select "Delete."

  2. Confirm Deletion: A confirmation modal will appear, asking if you are sure you want to delete the category. Click "Delete" to proceed.
