How to Create and Manage Dashboards

When you log into your account, the landing page after login is the Dashboard viewing page. It shows the live monitors for all of your active properties. The Dashboard feature on the sidebar has a viewing page and a manage page you can access.

Creating Custom Dashboards

  • On the View page, scroll to the right of the tabs and select the button with three stacked dots. A dropdown menu will appear with the following options:

    • New Dashboard: This option creates a new Dashboard.

    • Edit Dashboard: Use this option to edit Active Dashboards.

    • Archive Dashboard: Select to archive selected Dashboards.

  • Choose "New Dashboard" from the dropdown menu. The "Create Custom Dashboard" page will appear on the right side.

  • The active properties for your organization will populate the page. Use the provided filters to customize your dashboard.

  • Custom Dashboard Name: Enter a name for your new dashboard.

  • Select Properties: Choose one or more properties to see data insights on them. Options may include:

    • All Properties

    • Property Management

    • Portfolio

    • Ownership Group

  • Select the properties you would like to include, and they will appear in the "Selected Properties" box.

  • Once you are satisfied with your selections, click on "Create Dashboard."

  • If successful, the name of your customized dashboard will appear in the tabs above the monitors.


Edit Existing Dashboard

  • Start by clicking on "Dashboard" on the sidebar to the left. This action will navigate you to the View Page.

  • On the View page, scroll to the right of the tabs and select the button with three stacked dots. A dropdown menu will appear with the following options:

    • New Dashboard: This option creates a new Dashboard.

    • Edit Dashboard: Use this option to edit Active Dashboards.

    • Archive Dashboard: Select to archive selected Dashboards.

  • Choose "Edit Dashboard" from the dropdown menu. All the monitors for the selected dashboard will appear.

  • Move, add, and change your dashboard widgets to fit your needs. You can rearrange the position of existing widgets, add new widgets, or modify existing ones.

5. Once you're satisfied with the changes, save your edits.

6. Enjoy your updated dashboard with the new layout and widgets!


Archiving Dashboard

There are two methods to archive a dashboard in Doorcast

Method 1: Archiving via Manage Dashboards

1. Start by clicking on "Dashboard" on the sidebar to the left. This action will navigate you to the View Page.

2. Navigate to the sidebar and select "Manage" under Dashboards.

3. This will bring you to the Property Dashboards tab. Find the property you wish to archive.

4. Scroll to the right and select the button with three stacked dots. A dropdown menu will appear. Select "Archive."

5. If it's a custom dashboard, click on the Custom Dashboard tab in Manage. Find the custom dashboard you want to archive and repeat the steps above.

Method 2: Archiving via View Page

  • On the View page, scroll to the right of the tabs and select the button with three stacked dots. A dropdown menu will appear with the following options:

    • New Dashboard: This option creates a new Dashboard.

    • Edit Dashboard: Use this option to edit Active Dashboards.

    • Archive Dashboard: Select to archive selected Dashboards.

2. Choose "Archive Dashboard" from the dropdown menu. A confirmation message will appear. Select "Yes" to confirm archiving the selected dashboard.

Restoring Archived Dashboard

  • Go to Managed Dashboards.

  • Click the Property Dashboards tab or click the Custom Dashboards tab to access the active or archived dashboards.

  • Find the desired archived property or custom dashboard.

  • Scroll to the main button with three stacked dots on the right and click it to access the dropdown menu.

  • Select "Restore" from the dropdown menu.

If you archived a Custom Dashboard be sure to select the Custom Dashboard tab as it will not show on the Property Dashboard tab.

  • Once the dashboard is restored, click on "View" on the sidebar. You will see your restored property or custom dashboard back on the upper tabs.

  • These steps allow you to effectively archive and restore dashboards in Doorcast.
