How to Add Residents

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to add residents to properties within Doorcast.

1. Navigate to the Sidebar

  • To begin, navigate to the sidebar of the Doorcast web application.

  • From the sidebar, locate and select the "Properties" option. This action will bring up the active properties list.

2. Choose a Property:

  • Once the active properties list is displayed, select the property you wish to manage amenities for from the property name list.

*Troubleshooting Tip*: If you don't see the property you want, check your permissions and speak to your teams administrator to gain access.

3. Navigate to Residents Tab

  • A. Within the selected property, locate and click on the "Residents" tab to proceed.

  • B. Once in the Residents tab, click on the button with three stacked dots to reveal the dropdown menu.

5. Fill in Resident Details

  • Click on "Create Resident" to access the new resident form.

    • Complete the following fields in the new resident form:

      • Property: The property to which the resident belongs (automatically populated).

      • First Name: Enter the resident's first name.

      • Last Name: Enter the resident's last name.

      • Email (optional): Optionally, provide the resident's email address.

      • Phone Number (optional): Optionally, provide the resident's phone number.

      • Birth Date: Enter the resident's date of birth.

      • Lease Signer: Specify whether the resident is a lease signer (Yes/No).

      • Dependent: Specify whether the resident is a dependent (Yes/No).

      • Resident Status: Choose the resident's status (current, former, future).

      • Household Status: Choose the resident's household status.

        • head of household,

        • corporate lease,

        • guarantor,

        • roomate,

        • family (adult),

        • Family (minor),

        • Spouse,

        • other

      • Address: Enter the resident's address.

6. Create New Lease (Optional):

  • If required, mark the "Create New Lease" checkbox.

    • Fill in the details in the secondary form that appears:

    • Under Eviction: Specify whether the resident is under eviction (Yes/No).

    • Building: Select the building from the dropdown menu.

    • Unit: Select the unit from the dropdown menu.

    • Deposit: Enter the deposit amount.

    • Rent: Enter the rent amount.

    • Application Date: Enter the application date.

    • Application Status: Choose the application status.

    • Lease Start Date: Enter the lease start date.

    • Lease End Date: Enter the lease end date.

    • Scheduled Move In Date: Enter the scheduled move-in date.

    • Scheduled Move Out Date: Enter the scheduled move-out date.

    • Move In Date: Enter the actual move-in date.

    • Move Out Date: Enter the actual move-out date.

    • Notice To Vacate Date: Enter the notice to vacate date.

    • Reason for Move Out: Choose the reason for move out.

      • employment transfer,

      • eviction

      • , rental increase,

      • death or illness

      • , financial problems

      • , onsite transfer,

      • skipped / owes money,

      • unhappy / unsatisfied

  • After filling in the necessary details, click on the "Create Resident" button to finalize the addition process.

7. Confirmation

  • If successful the new resident will appear under the Residents tab along with their status.
