Creating Work Orders
1. Navigate to the Sidebar
To begin, navigate to the sidebar of the Doorcast web application.
From the sidebar, locate and select the "Properties" option. This action will bring up the active properties list.
2. Choose a Property
Once the active properties list is displayed, select the property you wish to manage amenities for from the property name list.
*Troubleshooting Tip*: If you don't see the property you are looking for you may need to create the property, or check your permissions and speak to your teams administrator to gain access.
3. Access Work Order Creation
Click on the "Work Orders" tab.
Scroll to the right and click on the button with 3 stacked dots.
A dropdown menu will appear, with the option "New Work Order". Select that to bring up the work order creation page.
4. Fill Out Work Order Details
On the work order creation page, fill out the following details based on your needs:
Work Order Key
Property
Unit (optional)
Reporting Resident (optional)
Reporting User
Priority
Area (optional)
Appointment
Category
Status
Description
Reported Date
Due Date (optional)
Scheduled Date (optional)
Start Date (optional)
Completed Date (optional)
Cost (optional)
Contractors (optional)
Troubleshooting Tip: Creating units is a prerequisite to creating a work order. Ensure that you have created units as required. If there is no unit available, it will flag and prevent the creation of the work order. If you have not done this please visit the "How to Create Units & Unit Types" page first then revisit this article.
5. Confirmation
If successful, your new work order will appear under the "Work Orders" tab for that property.
Editing Work Orders
1. Choose a Property
Once the active properties list is displayed, select the property you wish to manage amenities for from the property name list.
2. Navigate to Edit Work Order page
Click on the "Work Orders" tab.
Scroll to the right and click on the button with 3 stacked dots.
A dropdown menu will appear, with the option "New Work Order". Select that to bring up the Edit Work Order page.
3. Editing your Work Order
Edit the information you would like to edit then click the "Save Work Order" button to complete your changes.
5. Confirmation
If successful, your work order will reflect under the "Work Orders" tab for that property.
