Creating Work Orders

1. Navigate to the Sidebar

  • To begin, navigate to the sidebar of the Doorcast web application.

  • From the sidebar, locate and select the "Properties" option. This action will bring up the active properties list.

2. Choose a Property

  • Once the active properties list is displayed, select the property you wish to manage amenities for from the property name list.

*Troubleshooting Tip*: If you don't see the property you are looking for you may need to create the property, or check your permissions and speak to your teams administrator to gain access.

3. Access Work Order Creation

  • Click on the "Work Orders" tab.

  • Scroll to the right and click on the button with 3 stacked dots.

  • A dropdown menu will appear, with the option "New Work Order". Select that to bring up the work order creation page.

4. Fill Out Work Order Details

  • On the work order creation page, fill out the following details based on your needs:

    • Work Order Key

    • Property

    • Unit (optional)

    • Reporting Resident (optional)

    • Reporting User

    • Priority

    • Area (optional)

    • Appointment

    • Category

    • Status

    • Description

    • Reported Date

    • Due Date (optional)

    • Scheduled Date (optional)

    • Start Date (optional)

    • Completed Date (optional)

    • Cost (optional)

    • Contractors (optional)

Troubleshooting Tip: Creating units is a prerequisite to creating a work order. Ensure that you have created units as required. If there is no unit available, it will flag and prevent the creation of the work order. If you have not done this please visit the "How to Create Units & Unit Types" page first then revisit this article.

5. Confirmation

If successful, your new work order will appear under the "Work Orders" tab for that property.
